Observing Veterans Day on November 11th is even more significant than you may have realized. In Numerology, 11 is a master number representing balance and lessons learned — historically this 11th day marked the beginning of restoring peaceful order.

______

Dedicated to honoring the men and women of the United States Armed Forces, Veterans Day was instated to commemorate the end of World War I. Although World War I formally ended on June 28, 1919 with the signing of Treaty of Versailles in France, battle ceased at precisely the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918. It was on that same day in 1919 that President Woodrow Wilson declared “Armistice Day” in honor of The Great War’s end. Veteransday_blog2 In November 1919, President Wilson commemorated the first Armistice Day with these words::

“To us in America, the reflections of Armistice Day will be filled with solemn pride in the heroism of those who died in the country’s service and with gratitude for the victory, both because of the thing from which it has freed us and because of the opportunity it has given America to show her sympathy with peace and justice in the councils of the nations…”

In 1954, the word “Armistice” was replaced with “Veterans” and the holiday received a new meaning: November 11th became a day to honor American veterans of all wars. VeteransDay_blog This November 11, 2016, let us honor and thank all the members, and families, of the United States Armed Forces, who have sacrificed so much to uphold our safety and freedom. Let us recognize their bravery, their courage, and their patriotism.
